Trail notes
Gentle groomed and marked trails along the south-shore lakefront and toward Fallen Leaf Lake — easy, scenic, family-friendly skiing and snowshoeing with a historic resort base
Terrain note
~6,300–6,600 ft; gentle lakeside trails; variable low-elevation snow
Intl tip
A historic south-shore Tahoe resort with a friendly Nordic and snowshoe operation on gentle terrain between the resort, the lakefront, and Fallen Leaf Lake. Mostly easy, scenic trails along the shore and through pines — ideal for beginners and families. Rentals and lessons on site, plus marked snowshoe routes. But at ~6,300 ft the snow is lower and more variable than the high summits — best mid-winter after storms; check conditions, dress in layers. Picturesque and family-friendly.
