- Conditions
- Mountain and flatland thermal flying combined. Pilots can set out on XC flights south toward Bakersfield or west toward the Central Valley. Site has hosted national-level competition tasks. Local introduction essential — the area has specific hazards that are not obvious to newcomers.
- Ushpa
- P3/H3 minimum required for site access. A local pilot introduction is strongly recommended before flying — learning the hazards the hard way here has resulted in serious injuries.
- Intl tip
- Kings Canyon and Sequoia national parks are immediately to the east — combining a flying clinic at Dunlap with time in the sequoia groves makes for a genuinely complete Sierra experience.
