- Conditions
- Steady 8–20mph west sea breeze generates strong ridge lift off 200-foot bluffs. Wind must be within a specific window — too light and there's no lift, too strong and conditions become hazardous.
- Ushpa
- H3/P3 minimum. Intermediate rating (H2/P2) with a club-approved instructor only. Visiting pilots must check in before flying.
- Intl tip
- Best visited on a weekend afternoon between March and October. The NPS viewing deck is right at the parking lot — you don't need to hike anywhere. Dress for wind; the sea breeze that makes flying possible makes standing there cold.
