Intl tip
The gateway to a whole San Gabriel Mountains climbing playground — GMR climbs steadily out of foothill Glendora into the front range, then links via Glendora Ridge Rd (GRR) toward Mt. Baldy, offering big-mountain riding of almost any length on the edge of LA. Sustained rather than savage climbing, superb basin and canyon views, blissfully quiet midweek. NOTE: the September 2024 Bridge Fire burned this area, and upper GMR and Glendora Ridge Rd have had recovery closures into 2025–26 — check current Angeles NF / LA County status before planning. Exposed and hot in summer (carry water, ride early); weekend traffic and motorcyclists; rockfall and rough patches after storms.
