- Intl tip
- June Lake town, immediately adjacent to the ski area, is genuinely one of the most charming small towns in the Eastern Sierra — log-cabin bars, a gas station, a diner, and a frozen lake surrounded by peaks. Mono Lake (20 minutes south on Hwy 395, one of California's most bizarre and beautiful landscapes) is the post-ski stop. Stay in June Lake for the experience; drive to Mammoth for dinner if you need restaurant options.
The guide
June Mountain is the Cache Creek of California skiing — the one hiding in plain sight while everyone drives past on Highway 395…
