- Trail notes
- A nonprofit-run groomed Nordic area on Mount Shasta's flank — the only Nordic center between Lake Tahoe and Bend, Oregon — classic and skate trails and snowshoe routes through fir forest with grand views, in dependable Cascade snow
- Terrain note
- ~5,500 ft; groomed forest trails; snow varies with lower elevation
- Intl tip
- A community-run groomed Nordic center high on Mount Shasta's flank (via the Everitt Memorial Hwy near the Ski Park) — a lovely, low-key alternative to the big Sierra centers, with the volcano looming overhead. As the only Nordic center between Lake Tahoe and Bend, Oregon, its groomed classic and skate trails (~5,500 ft) wind through fir forest with grand Cascade views, plus snowshoe routes: gentle beginner terrain and rolling intermediate loops, far from crowds. As a nonprofit, hours and grooming vary (check ahead); rentals on site or in town. Mount Shasta is a snow magnet, but the lower elevation makes snow more variable and rain-prone — check the grooming report first.
