- Northstar is 30 minutes from the north shore of Lake Tahoe and Truckee. The base village has excellent food and lodging. Pair a bike-park day with a lake day — SUP or kayak on Tahoe (in the kayak guide) — for the classic North Tahoe summer combo. The Flume Trail is 45 minutes away on the east shore.
