- A Coast Miwok village site turned rancho turned 1960s commune where the Grateful Dead lived
- More
- A Coast Miwok town stood here for centuries — the name means 'southern village' — and the 1846 Battle of Olompali was the Bear Flag Revolt's only real skirmish. Later it hosted the Grateful Dead's 1966 commune summer; the burned Burdell mansion shell and reconstructed kotcas hold both stories.
