- Intl tip
- One of the best-loved local climbs in the LA area — Piuma Rd switchbacks up out of Malibu Canyon into the Santa Monica Mountains (~1,700 ft), with expansive views over the chaparral canyons to the distant Pacific. Quieter than the marquee canyons but just as scenic, and a favorite building block for loops with Mulholland, Malibu Canyon, and the coast. Exposed and hot in summer (carry water, ride mornings); shared with cars and weekend motorcyclists — ride predictably, mind blind corners, control the descent. Fire-prone; check closures.
