Intl tip
One of the prettier aquatic descents in the Santa Barbara area, climbing into the front range above Montecito — a watery gorge of waterfalls, clear pools, and sculpted sandstone chutes, a scenic intermediate outing. Several rappels and downclimbs link swims through pools in a lush, shaded canyon. Rewards moderate rope skills and comfort in water; best in spring/early summer. Polished sandstone is slippery (inspect/back up anchors), post-fire debris flows can change conditions (check beta), and it flash-floods — never enter with rain.
