- Intl tip
- A beloved, scenic intro to the Santa Barbara front range's aquatic canyoneering — a chain of small waterfalls, polished sandstone chutes, and clear pools in the hills above town, ocean glinting below. A popular hike links short drops, downclimbs, and slides, with spots that reward basic rope skills — approachable with an experienced partner. Best in late spring/early summer when pools hold water but flow has calmed. Rock is slippery, some downclimbs are exposed, it crowds on warm weekends, and it can flash-flood — never enter with rain.
