License required (CA covers the CA sections; it crosses into NV — mind the line). Rugged freestone pocket water with big wild browns — nymph the deep slots, swing streamers. Special regs in places. Late spring–fall. Combine with Tahoe, Donner, and the Truckee trails. Persistence pays off with a trophy brown.
